“To see so many young, enthusiastic, ambassadors for nutrition was truly inspiring. So much passion, commitment and tenacity is required to get a nutritious product off the ground, and each of the finalists had these qualities. INNOVATIONS FOR ASPIRATIONAL AND AFFORDABLE NUTRITIOUS FOOD PRODUCTS

An elevator pitch is a critical part of the entrepreneurial process. As competition for research and investment funds increases, young scientists need to effectively articulate their idea and do so in a manner that is persuasive and precise. Sight and Life Foundation developed a platform for organizing an elevator pitch contest (EPC) on disruptive ideas to stimulate networks and dialogue, especially among innovators.

The Elevator Pitch Contest’s goal is to identify and support such projects that can be implemented and produce a meaningful impact in the short term.

To stimulate innovation from different fields, the contest will have goal is to identify and support such projects that can solve the critical challenge of micronutrient malnutrition through an aspirational and affordable nutritious food.

This maiden edition of the Elevator Pitch Contest (EPC) will be held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on September 12, 2019 during the Ghana Industrial Summit and Exhibition (GISE) 2019 where seven finalists will be selected to present their novel ideas. All finalists will win a trip (round trip and accommodation) to Accra to participate in the Ghana Industrial Summit and pitch their idea to a panel of experts and potential investors and the opportunity to be mentored by experts from McGill University and DSM.  One winner will receive seed funds of $5000 USD, year-long research support by McGill University, and access to McGill’s new Agile Project Management online course that supports them in managing their enterprise.
