Sight and Life informs, supports, designs, and incubates evidence-based malnutrition solutions. Originally a humanitarian aid program, our organization has continuously evolved in response to – and in anticipation of – the ever-changing nutrition landscape. With decades of experience at the convergence of the public and private sectors, we are ideally positioned to catalyze innovative and much-needed collective action in nutrition. By leveraging the strengths and capacities of both industry and public-sector partners to address societal nutrition goals, we will deliver value to food- and nutrition-insecure populations, aiming to serve as a model for future cross-sector cooperation and impact.
The Elevator Pitch Contest (EPC) was founded by Sight and Life and provides a platform for students to present their innovation in nutrition to a distinguished team of experts, potential investors, and the nutrition science community. It is an interactive approach whereby an entrepreneur must boil down their concept into a persuasive pitch that will spark interest from potential financiers and is a critical part of the entrepreneurial process. As competition for research and investment funds increases, young scientists need to effectively articulate their ideas and do so in a manner that is persuasive and precise.
The current edition of the EPC seeks innovations for Aspirational and Affordable Nutritious Food Products. Seven finalists will be selected to present their novel ideas on September 12, 2019 in Accra during the Ghana Industrial Summit and Exhibition (GISE) 2019.
